Epic St. Martin Involved In Search And Rescue Operation In Philippines

Singapore – During the night of September 13 to 14, 2014, the crew of our vessel Epic St. Martin came to the aid and rescue of the passengers of the ferry Maharlika II, which sank in bad weather in the central Philippines.

As one of three vessels involved in the search and rescue operations, our crew was able to bring a total of 56 survivors to safety, despite the rough sea conditions that night. Sadly, two fatalities were among those taken on board our vessel. According to media reports a number of people are still missing.

We are deeply saddened by this incident and our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the families and friends, who have lost loved ones.

At the same time the Board of Directors and Management team of Epic Gas thank Captain Kirby C. Magdadaro and his crew on board the Epic St. Martin for their heroic efforts and for demonstrating excellent focus and skills to perform this perilous operation.
