Singapore – Epic Gas Ltd. announced today that it has contracted to build two additional 11,000cbm fully-pressurised gas carriers at Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation in Japan. In December 2013, Epic Gas announced a previous order for two similar-sized vessels from Kyokuyo.

Lars Vang Christensen, CEO of Epic Gas, states: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with Kyokuyo Shipyard Corporation,” and he highlights, “With these latest additions we continue to grow our fleet with the largest vessels in the pressurised segment.”

The two ships are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2016 and in first quarter 2017. This latest order will bring Epic Gas’ count of similar-sized newbuilds to six vessels including two ships to be chartered in from Kumiai Senpaku.
